It turns out Gucci wasn’t the only one getting a makeover this week. In celebration of Sabato De Sarno’s debut collection for the Italian luxuriate, Miley Cyrus posted a series of pH๏τos to her Instagram—in head to toe Gucci, of course. But the only things more noticeable than her fire engine red leather handbag was her new, deep chocolate dye job.
Ditching that Debbie Harry two-tone blonde situation for more of autumnal hue is an interesting one. The last time Cyrus was a brunette was in 2012, when she was teetering on the edge of being known for wholesome tracks such as “Party In The USA”, “7 Things” and “The Climb” and was just about to break the internet with a platinum pixie crop while riding a cement ball into a wall for her hit single “Wrecking Ball”.
“Congratulations on your beautiful debut show as creative director at Gucci,” Cyrus wrote to De Sarno on her Instagram post. “Your stunning heart was shown in every sтιтch. I love you and am so proud of you. Now, give me everything.”

Cyrus—a natural caramel brunette—just released her new track “Used To Be Young,” one which reflects on a young person navigating the intersection between their past and present.
“This song is about honoring who we’ve been, loving who we are, and celebrating who we will become,” Cyrus said in a statement when the song was released. “I feel proud when reflecting on my past and optimistic when thinking about the future. I am grateful to my loyal fans who make my dreams a reality daily. I am sincerely thankful for the stability of your steadfast support. This song is for you.”
Perhaps her brunette dye job is another way of reconciling with her past. Whatever the reason, it looks beautiful.
