The video was shared on social media by an app called Lisa AI: 90s Yearbook & Avatar, and it was done without her consent.

Johansson’s lawyer, Kevin Yorn, initiated legal action against the company responsible for this advertisement.

This is not the first time Johansson has encountered issues related to the unauthorized use of her image, as she previously sued Disney in 2019 for the simultaneous digital release of her film ‘Black Widow’, which she believed breached her contract.

The AI-powered ad featured a voice imitation of Johansson in her role as the Black Widow, encouraging viewers to explore the app’s features, including avatar creation and AI-generated images and videos.

A disclaimer in the ad clarified that the images were produced by Lisa AI and were not related to Johansson herself.

“What’s up guys? I’m Scarlett and I want you to come with me,” the voice said.

“It’s not limited to avatars only.
“You can also create images with texts and even your AI videos. I think you shouldn’t miss it.”

While the specific ad in question is no longer available, the legal dispute underscores the importance of securing the rights and permissions of public figures in the age of digital and AI-driven content creation.
