Golf can be a frustrating game, even when you’ve played it at a pretty high level like Paige Spiranac.
On Sunday, Spiranac shared on X/Twitter that after her official playing days ended nearly a decade ago, her love for golf momentarily waned as she became overly focused on her performance on the course.
“I played junior golf, college golf and a year professionally. After that stretch I mentally couldn’t handle playing golf and especially keeping score. I equated my score to my self worth,” Spiranac said. “I know it sounds silly but compeтιтive golf really beat me up emotionally. But I’ve found that pᴀssion again! I’ve started tracking my scores and grinding on my game. I’ll keep you posted here on my journey!
“This round at Austin CC I sH๏τ a 73. Such a fun track!”
A 73 is incredibly impressive. Spiranac included a pH๏τo of her teeing off during that recent round in Austin.
After starting her college career at the University of Arizona, Spiranac transferred to San Diego State, where she earned all-Mountain West honors multiple years in a row.
From there, it was on to the Cactus Tour before a failed attempt to qualify for the LPGA. After that, Spiranac began focusing her attention on her personal brand and became golf’s foremost social media influencer.
