Scarlett Johansson faced a legal setback when her request for a restraining order against a stalker was denied.
According to DailyMail report, the fan named, Michael Joseph Branham, believes he fathered the Black Widow actress’ son, Cosmo, whom she welcomed in 2021 with her husband, Colin Jost.
The issue with the restraining order arose because Johansson’s attorney failed to properly serve Branham with the necessary legal papers.
As a result, all the restraining orders were dissolved, causing Johansson and her family, “significant fear and concern.”
The Avengers star initially filed for the restraining order after enduring months of distress caused by Branham’s actions.
According to the outlet, Johansson revealed that Branham’s obsession intensified around August 2022.
His obsession led his to show up at the Under the Skin actress’ residence uninvited and leave kids’ toys and letters, which were intended for her son.
Johansson also mentioned his efforts to travel and track her movements, which created safety concerns, especially for the public events she was scheduled to attend.
