Lizzo embraced her body as she admitted that 2021 has already left her ‘disappointed’ in a new Instagram on Wednesday.
The 32-year-old artist posted some dreamy snaps of her baring her curves with just a sheer bed sheet as she penned some heartfelt captions.
Looking like a goddess as she posed in the desert, she told her 9.7M instagram followers: ‘I will be happy,’ while getting candid about her state of mind.
Standing on a rock in the middle of nowhere, the Cuz I Love You singer struck a series of poses in the artful shoot.
She kept her hair in long braids, looking strong yet still vulnerable while covered by just a swath of the flowy fabric.
Lizzo was unafraid about her emotional state in the caption, sharing: ‘2021 has already left me disappointed w a broken heart. I am holding onto hope but it’s slipping through my grip.’
She continued, ‘Life is beautiful though, so I’ve decided to sit and feel everything. Though it hurts like h*ll…I am grateful for feelings.’
In another caption accompanying a few more intimate snaps, she wrote: ‘I will be happy.’
‘Freeing myself of things I can’t control. Bulls**t ain’t none of my business,’ she said.
After her very open social media displays she received an outpouring of support from followers who sent her love and called her ‘a beautiful light.’
Lizzo frequently takes to Instagram to share her thoughts and feelings as she candidly said, ‘Raise ur hand if u feel like s**t today,’ on Sunday.
Known to many as a pillar of strength and joy, it seems that the state of the country – and undisclosed personal problems – are wearing on her currently.
She posted a video to TikTok on Wednesday as she filmed herself in a furry robe in her car, as she showed herself some love and said ‘this bun is so f***ing cute today.’
Lizzo captioned the video, ‘Draft from when I was happy lol.’
A poster girl for body positivity, she received backlash last month when she said she was trying to lose weight.
She was accused of ‘succumbing to fatphobia,’ and has continued to struggle with owning her body image, as she did a duet with someone on TikTok Saturday who said she had ‘no desire to look good’ when she felt bigger.
Calling the girl’s feelings ‘extremely valid’ she said, ‘As a big person who’s never been considered small, I have felt that exact same way at different places in my weight.’
‘I have found that the desire to look pretty comes with a lot of different variables.’
‘My surroundings…the way my family made me feel, the attention romantically from boys – all those things factored into whether I felt like I deserved to look pretty or not.’
