The actress once recalled feeling miserable when she filmed an intimate scene with her co-star, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, in Woody Allen’s film,Match Point.

In a 2005 interview withMovieWeb,Scarlett Johansson, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers reflected on their time working in Woody Allen’sMatch Point. At one point, the actress opened up about how she felt miserable while filming an erotic scene with her co-star which went quite badly as he hurt her accidentally.

Continuing to share her experience, Johansson stated,

“First of all, I was in this very conveniently thin shirt, and it’s pouring rain, and it’s that kind of movie rain where it pelts you with this freezing cold water. And I have a slight weed allergy, and it was just miserable. I had a swollen eye for a couple of days.”
What made things worse was her co-star biting her lip accidentally.

“He really bit my lip actually. Jonathan busted my lip open”
Though he hurt her quite badly which even left bruised marks on her face, he sent her flowers the very next day as an apology. The actress was moved by his gesture though she knew it was not a “s-xy” thing to do.

While their relationship was good, her bonding with the director stood out the most even after several years.

Johansson and Allen shared quite a strong bond which was quite evident in the industry. They have complimented each other on several occasions, with the 2005 film becoming the foundation of their relationship. Their friendship remained unaffected, even when he was surrounded by s-xual abuse allegations. Though it didn’t benefit the former who was highly criticized for taking his side. Even after the allegations surfaced, the actress shared,

“I love Woody. I believe him, and I would work with him anytime.”
It didn’t take long for her to change her viewpoint, especially when she garnered extreme backlash. In an interview with Variety, she shared,

“I don’t know – I feel the way I feel about it. It’s my experience. I don’t know any more than any other person knows. I only have a close proximity with Woody…he’s a friend of mine. But I have no other insight other than my relationship with him.”
She was one of the few Hollywood personalities who continued to take his side despite him being accused of s-xually harᴀssing his adopted daughter.
